My research interests lie mainly in the following areas:
- Political economy of globalisation from a historical perspective. Specifically I am interested in the history of trade, migration and capital flows and how changes in domestic and international politics influenced policy choices in these areas.
- Political economy in the interwar years, with a particular interest in the rise of extremist parties
- Irish economic history
- Public Health interventions in history
